About
Risk is the definitive game of global domination. Players command armies and compete to conquer territories across a world map divided into 42 regions and 6 continents. Every turn brings tough decisions: attack aggressively and stretch your forces thin, or consolidate your hold and grow stronger before striking.
What makes Risk endlessly compelling is the blend of dice-based chance and genuine strategic depth. You can plan a perfect campaign and still be undone by a string of bad rolls — or a surprise alliance between opponents. Knowing when to press your advantage and when to pull back separates good players from great ones.
For a coffee break, the online version lets you jump into quick matches against AI opponents. You can pause, save progress, and experience the full sweep of geopolitical conquest in sessions as short or long as you like.
How to Play
- At the start, territories are distributed among players and each receives armies to place.
- On your turn, receive reinforcement armies based on territories and continents you control.
- Attack adjacent enemy territories by rolling dice — attacker uses up to 3 dice, defender uses up to 2.
- After attacking, fortify by moving armies between your connected territories.
- Eliminate all opponents or achieve your secret mission to win.
Tips
- Secure a full continent early — bonus armies each turn compound quickly.
- Australia and South America are the easiest continents to hold due to few entry points.
- Don't overextend: a long thin line of territories is easy to cut off.
- Watch the card bonus track — players who eliminate opponents collect powerful card sets.
